Aspects of the Journey Few Can Understand

As I stood in deep reflection, I relished the serenity of this peaceful getaway. For years, I had been a foster parent during my "single" season, managing the business entrusted to me by God while caring for other people's children.
I aimed to provide them with stability and peace, often at the expense of my own. Through this experience, I discovered that getaways, whether solo or with a fellow foster mom, were not just luxuries but necessities.
On this autumn day, I was enveloped by the beauty of Petit Jean State Park. My favorite hiking companion, who also happened to be a foster parent, had a supportive husband to look after their home. Meanwhile, my children were enjoying sleepovers at various trusted foster homes. I cherish this photograph because it captures not only the park's beauty but also serves as a reminder of those rare moments of peace during that season. It symbolizes God's presence amidst the challenges I faced.
Like any ministry calling, there were incredible seasons filled with miracles and fun adventures, but there were also many times of solitude and hardship as I navigated the emotional trauma of children. The behaviors stemming from this trauma were often unimaginable to the average family. Yet, I also recall the profound connection I developed with God during this period, learning to trust Him like never before and relying on him completely, as He was all I had.
